ADS124S06: Request for Form, Fit, Function Alternate for CS5524-ASZR (Cirrus Logic)

Hi team,

We are currently using the CS5524-ASZR (24-bit Sigma-Delta ADC) from Cirrus Logic in our design.

However, this part has been marked for Last Time Buy and will soon become obsolete.

To ensure continuity of our product line, we are looking for a Form, Fit, and Function (FFF) compatible alternate that meets the following key specifications:

  • Resolution: 24-bit Sigma-Delta ADC
  • Channels: 4 differential inputs
  • Interface: SPI
  • Package: 24-SSOP or equivalent
  • Supply Voltage: 5V analog/digital
  • Operating Temperature: -40°C to +85°C

 

Please let us know if you have a suitable replacement or can recommend an equivalent part. Additionally, kindly share the datasheet and availability details for your suggested alternate.

Design location: USA.

Quantity: 10k/year

Application: Sensor Interface.

    Hi Ra Krishna,

    We do not have a pin-to-pin replacement for the CS5524. The CS5524 is a little odd for an SSOP, it is almost square? The ADS1254 for example is probably the closest device we have (SSOP-20, 4x differential inputs, SPI, 24-bit delta-sigma) - however, the package footprints are different of course. They also have very different pinouts, and the ADS1254 does not have a PGA

    Alternatively, the device you referenced in this post (ADS124S0x) is likely a better replacement for the CS5524 because the ADS124S08 includes a PGA, 6x differential channels, and comes in a TQFP or QFN package. Since you only need 4x differential channels on the ADS124S08, the other 2x differential inputs (4x analog pins) can be used as GPIOs for example if you need to control external circuitry
