TX7332: Driving a larger load

Hi Team,

Posting on behalf of our customer.

If I wanted to drive a larger load (e.g., a probe with a shielded cable of length 1-3m commonly used in ultrasound imaging), would I need to upgrade both the TX7332 chips and the power supply?

  • Hi Danilo,

    It depends on the load capacitance seen by the device and the final rise/fall time requirements the customer has. If the final rise/fall time or frequency has to be maintained for a higher load, then a device with higher current drive has to be chosen. The power supply design need not be changed if the worst case current required by the device/load can be delivered without the voltages dropping. If not, the supply too has to be changed.
