Hello,

How do we know if the patch code must be loaded on our TVP5158?

Yes, the latest patch code is recommended with the TVP5158.

Thanks for the response.

When this part ships, in the manufacturing environment, would the customer need to program every IC? Some? How would they know which version of firmware in on the chip?

The patch code is loaded into TVP RAM, and is not retained, so the patch code load procdeure must be included in the system software. The patch code needs to be loaded after system power-up and after RESET is applied to the TVP5158.
