Here are my notes on how to get the software and hardware running in windows 7, as well as the driver/inf files:

when booting, hit F8 and then select that the OS does NOT force device ID compliance for hardware installs.

1. plug in hardware, let it enumerate to 0451-2319 or 0451-2320.
2. using device manager, browse to Vista/64-bit Jason.inf.
3. let it install.
4. let it re-enumerate to 04B4-1004.
5. browse to x64
6. using device manager, browse to Vista/cyusb - Jason.inf.
7. let it install

done. software should work now.

put USB_IO_for_VB6.dll into:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your user account name>\Local Settings\Apps\2.0\PCWMR1NK.1KA\R1NCWQ34.0RX\ddc_..tion_8503f028cdb682b9_0001.0000_a0627ba8261fc9c2
or
C:\Users\<your user account name>\AppData\Local\Apps...

"Vista" and "x64" are folders included in the zip file attached.  I hope this gets you up and running!

Hi Jason,

I've got the same problem as Kevin and couldn't get it working with your instructions.I got some drivers installed and the software starts, but when I press Refresh All button I get message: Error Writing FPGA registers. So could you help me?

Some questions:

First: f8 does nothing on my computer on startup and I couldn't find that kind of setup from bios. Is this step really needed?

Second: What does enumerate mean? Do I need to care about this?

Third: From device manager I cannot choose an individual file to install through update drivers. Only the whole folder. I tested this and it installed the drivers for DDC MB 4. Though I have no idea if it used that file named Jason. Any advices?

Fourth: I cannot update DDC MB 4 drivers from x64, because it already has suitable drivers. So I cannot install the second file.

Fifth: Why doesn't TI make proper drivers for win 7/ win 8? No one uses that crappy xp anymore...

1. F8 will take you to the windows boot menu.  The timing can be a little tricky, see if someone else around your office can show you when to push it.  It is really necessary at this time.

2. Enumeration is the process by which the PC recognizes and identifies the attached hardware.  All USB devices do this.

3. Selecting the folder should be fine.

4. You can always try a clean install.

5. In this instance, the drivers we use are stock drivers provided for the CY68013A-FX2LP from Cypress.  Getting it working in windows 7 was the extent of my involvement, I don't know if there are new drivers available from Cypress for this or if there are plans for windows 8 support.

It works now. Encryption software made it trickier to get to the boot menu.

Checked Cypress site also and seems indeed that they are not updating the drivers. Though it doesn't matter if it works with yours :)

I found these options on my machine with F8, I am using  Win7 x64 laptop.

The option you need is the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option.

Please note that with a windows 7 machine you will need to do this every time you reboot the PC. You should not need to repeat the installation, only repeat the F8 sequence at boot time if you reboot the PC.

I went through the boot options as you mentioned and plugged in USB after it finished booting to WIN7. 

where do I  see these enumeration numbers?

As soon as  I plug in it detects EZ-USB and installs ND-tech USB Adapter

To see these numbers you will need to open the following:

START>Control Panel>Device Manager

In device manager you should see a device with a Yellow symbol that indicates it is not installed correctly.

Right click on this device and select Properties.

At the top of the new window, select the Details Tab.

In the drop down box select Hardware Ids.

You should now see one of the enumeration numbers as mentioned before. Follow the guide based on the enumeration number you see. 

If you have further problems, please post a screenshot of your Device Manager Window and I will help further.

With hardreset of Board switches I could enumerate those ids. Please ignore my earlier post.

Hi Adam,

 I think this question should be on a different forum. But I am wondering if their is any software option via USB to hard reset FPGA to mimic the functionality of 

Switch2: RESET_FPGA, resets the FPGA. Normally, it should not be necessary to use this switch.
Pressing this switch resets the FPGA to power-up conditions.

I need this because I observe EVM goes to Error Read/Write FPGA Config registers and I need to do hard reset of FPGA Switch2 to get it back working.

Any suggestions?
