ADC12J4000EVM: Labview Error when capturing data

Part Number: ADC12J4000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12J4000

Hello,

I am using ADC12J4000 EVM with TSW14J56EVM (rev B), that I configure via USB using the provided GUI for the ADC and latest version of HSDC pro for the data capture board. I am running the softwares on Windows 7 for compatibility with the GUI.

I get the following error when capturing the data:

Error 1097 occured at call library function node in TSW1400.lvlib:14J56_config ADC.vi -> TSW1400.lvlib:Frame.vi Possible reason LabView (HEx 0x449) an exception occured within the external code called by a call library function node. The exception might have corrupted the labview memory

I did try reinstalling Labview but I keep getting this error. Would you have any idea what to check or how to best proceed?

Many thanks,

Thibault

  • Hi Thibault,

Please send me a detailed block diagram of your test setup with current ratings, signal frequencies and amplitudes so we can better help you.

Here are a few quick things to try.

Please do not connect usb connections thru a hub, connect the usb cables directly to the laptop or PC.

Please make sure your current limit settings on your power supply are in the 4A range, especially for the TSWJ56EVM, this is needed in order to overcome the current spike when programming the FPGA.

Please report back and let me know.

    Regards,

    Rob

  • Hello Rob,

Thank you for your answer. I was not able to find the original power supplies. The ones I currently use are limited to 4A.

The setup is exactly the same as here ADC12J4000EVM User's Guide (Rev. B) (p10). The two boards are connected  to a PC running Windows 7, with direct usb connections. I have one input signal at -10 dBm and frequency 500 MHz connected to the Vin SMA-input, and I use the internal clock source.

I noticed meanwhile that the latest version of the HSDC pro software (v5.31) does not support TSW14J56 boards (inside the software TSW14J56rev D is listed, but I have rev B). Is it possible to download an older version of HSDC? I couldn't find any other version online.

Concerning the GUI, can I use the one from ADC12J4000EVM Evaluation board | TI.com (SLAC652)?

If this is not the issue, I will try with other power supplies.

    Best regards,

    Thibault

  • Hi Thibault,

The power supplies need the current limit set to 4A, not just have 4A capability. Please make sure the limits are set to 4A.

I don't think you need a windows 7 pc. I set this EVM around 4months back and I am a current window platform.

I also didn't need an older version of HSDCpro to get the EVM setup up and running.

It is possible the RevB TSW brd could be the issue, I would need to sets this up in the lab and check.

Give me a few days to respond back and please make sure the power supply limit setting is at 4A.

    Regards,

    Rob
