ADC14155QML-SP: Input Current Rating Magnitudes/Durations

Part Number: ADC14155QML-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC14155

Hi,

I am using the ADC14155 in an application where it may receive an input signal while the ADC is off. Per the datasheet (see below) page 7, footnote 2 and 5, it appears that the ADC14155 can receive an input voltage while the device itself is off without damage, as long as the input current is 5mA or less.

We are estimating the input current to both VIN+ and VIN- to have a peak of 9mA that decays down to <5mA by ~50ms.

On a given input pin, we are estimating the high side clamp diode to see an average of half this (this diode conducting for half of the input switching cycle) so 4.5mA average at the highest. And estimating the low side clamp diode to also see an average of half this (this diode conducting for the other half of the input switching cycle) so also 4.5mA average at the highest.

I'd just like to confirm that this is not damaging to the device.

Thanks!
