ADS1118: Relationship between conversion time and DRDY( high to low) ?

Part Number: ADS1118

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering ADS1118 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

Could you please let me know the relationship between conversion time and DRDY status(High to Low) regarding ADS1118IDGST.

When Config Register bit 7:5 [DR2:0] is set to 000 (8 SPS).

Is it possible to think the AD conversion is updated and DOUT/DRDY changes from high to low, which is 125 ms (8 SPS).

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hello Shinichi,

    Thank you for the questions!

The DOUT/DRDYn pin can be used to indicate that a conversion is complete and new data are available. The pin transitions low when new data are ready for retrieval. In continuous-conversion mode, DOUT/DRDYn transition high again 8us before the next data ready signal (DOUT/DRDYn low) if no data are retrieved from the device. Please see section 9.5.5 of the datasheet for more information.

    Regards,

    Andrew
