ADS1115: +/-5V Bipolar ADC with mV accuracy

Part Number: ADS1115

Current design includes an ADS1115 but I am finding the non-linearity at upper end of the range to diviate too much.

I am looking for an ADC that can handle an single sided input which ranges from -5 to 5VDC (or greater). I am not providing the current board design as it will be changed as nessicary to optimize the new ADC.

Ideal characterists are as follows:

  • SPI and/or I2C
  • minimum input range of -5 to 5VDC (greater is prefered if accuracy/resolution is maintained)
  • +5V and +12V rails available
  • high resolution (12bit or greather)
  • mV accuracy
  • low noise
  • as linear as possible
  • throuhole is always prefered, but surface mount is acceptable
