We are currently evaluating the ADS1293 for ECG acquisition in our multi-parameter patient monitor design. Along with ECG, we are exploring the possibility of deriving Respiratory Rate (RR).

We would like clarification on the following points:

  1. Whether ADS1293 natively supports impedance-based RR measurement.

  2. If external reference configuration or additional analog front-end circuitry is required to enable RR measurement.

  3. Recommended reference setup (internal reference vs external reference) for stable ECG + RR acquisition.

  4. Any suggested application notes, register configurations, or example designs supporting RR measurement.

  5. Limitations, expected accuracy, and signal conditioning considerations for RR using ADS1293.

This information will help us finalize the front-end architecture for our design.
