ADS122S14: SDO/DRDY

Part Number: ADS122S14

Hi All,

I have a question about the ADS122S14.
The ADS122S14's SDO/DRDY terminal (pin 10) is described as a push-pull output, but isn't it actually open-drain for SDO and push-pull for DRDY?
If it's an open-drain output, is it possible to wire or OR it with other components?

Best Regards,
Ishiwata

  • Dear Ishiwata-san,

the combined SDO/DRDYn pin is always a push-pull output when CSn is low. When CSn is high, the pin is Hi-Z.
Multiple devices can share the SDO/DRDYn pin as shown in the "9.1.2 Interfacing with Multiple Devices" section in the datasheet. But you must only drop CSn low to one device at a time.

Alternatively you can configure pin 8 as a dedicated DRDYn output and configure it as open-drain. This pin is always driven then, even when CSn is high.
