DAC70508: DAC70508/ID

Part Number: DAC70508

The problem we are currently encountering is that the DAC70508ZRTER model has two IDs: 0x1816 and 0x8816. These two IDs appear in the same roll of material, and the datasheet does not explicitly specify specific ID data. Please assist us in checking if there are multiple IDs and whether ID 8816 is correct.

  • Hi Chen,

The ID should be 0x1816.  Is it possible you are having a read back issue? If your clock phase or polarity is incorrect, it possible that the MSB is misread but the device acts normally.  Can you confirm communication with oscilloscope taking extra care to confirm the clock edges vs the device datasheet? Could you also share the device markings and date-code?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Currently, some items with ID 0x1816 have been read normally, but we have also read ID 0x8816. Therefore, we need to confirm whether an ID of 0x8816 exists. Does 0x8816 have the same function?

Please help me understand the ID 0x8816. Thank you.

  • The DAC should not respond with 0x8816.  So either the SPI read command is borderline and should be confirmed, or the devices are non-conforming and we can consider a failure analysis event.
