We are evaluating the combination of ADC3910D125EVM and TSWDC155EVM
for capturing and analyzing IF signals.
Our target application requires continuous IF sample acquisition for
several minutes up to several tens of minutes.
Sampling rate and bit width will be adjusted (reduced from the maximum
12bit x 2ch x 125MSPS) to fit within the USB 3.0 bandwidth.
Could you please advise on the following points?
[1. Real-time streaming]
- Is it possible to receive a real-time continuous data stream from
the EVM via a user program (e.g., Python)?
- Are there any official SDK / API / sample code provided?
Which programming languages are supported?
- Under reduced settings that fit USB 3.0 bandwidth, is buffer-underrun-free
continuous reception feasible?
[2. File capture]
- What is the maximum number of samples / maximum recording time
per single capture?
- Could you provide the binary file format specification
(bit packing, header structure, endianness)?
- When performing back-to-back captures (split files),
is there any data loss or gap between captures?
[3. FW / FPGA customization]
- Is modification of the FPGA design and FX3 firmware permitted?
- Are the source codes (FPGA RTL, FX3 FW) available to users?
- What is the FPGA part number, required development environment
(e.g., Vivado), and any license requirements?
- How does customization affect the support scope or warranty?
[4. Alternative recommendations]
- If our use case is not well-suited to this EVM combination,
could you recommend a more appropriate TI hardware/software
configuration?
- Are there other TI capture solutions or reference designs better
suited for long-duration continuous streaming to a host PC?
