Hi, I've had issues with the ADC128S102 breaking. The power sequence is correct for power on. Do I need to be concerned with power off? Can i continuously have the system apply voltage to the inputs and have current entering the part if it's <10mA per pin and <20mA total if the part's VD and VA rails are off?

    Can you clarify what the failure mode is? Are you reading bad data back? Are there any shorts from any pin to ground or to VA? Also, is this a design in production, or is it currently in development?

    Are VD and VA being supplied independently? Can you share an oscilloscope capture of the power supply ramp up and ramp down? VD should be applied after VA is present, then VD should ideally ramp down before VA. This is not always enforceable when VA and VD share a supply, but they should track each other closely on power up and power down so as not to cause the internal ESD protection diode to conduct. 

    The analog inputs should not be present before the analog supply is brought up, but it is true that 20mA in or out of the device is the absolute maximum rating.

    If you have any failed devices, it might be worthwhile to submit the device to us in order to perform destructive failure analysis and investigate which area of the die becomes damaged. That might tell us more on where the electrical overstress condition might be occurring.
