DAC7612: screen marking

Part Number: DAC7612

The differentiation issue between DAC7612UB and DAC7612U still remains. The customer pointed out that TI factory marks an extra prefix "B" on DAC7612UB parts to distinguish them from DAC7612U versions. Any component without the prefix "B" is not DAC7612UB, as shown in the attached picture. Could such a marking distinction exist?

  • Hi Andy,

I'll check our internal documents to see if we add a "B" to the DAC7612UB devices.

    Thanks,
    Erin

  • Hi Andy,

I had to talk with our project manager who understands these older device ratings better than I do. Looks like if a device meets the "B" specification, it gets marked with that additional B you have circled. Not sure why it's not specified in the datasheet, but that is how the manufacturer differentiates between high grade and normal grade devices.

Sorry about not catching this in the previous thread, the apps team has limited information when it comes to device markings. Hopefully that clears up some confusion though.

    Thanks,
    Erin
