Super basic question about hardware needed for ads8361evm

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8361EVM, ADS8361, 5-6KINTERFACE

Dear all

I would like to eventually incorporate one of TI hi precision A-D's into a general A-D board, and wanted to start using the  ads8361evm board - could I

just clarify the other necessary hardware/software to do this - it looks like you apart from the ads8361evm, you need the 5-6k interface board, which then need to be attached

to a third board, the C6713 DSK, and use the software interface via USB - is this correct?

Thanks

Chris French

  • Hi Chris,

Do you already have some sort of micro controller in mind to use with the ADS8361?  The ADS8361EVM will work with the 5-6KInterface board and the TMS320C6713DSK - with that combination of hardware you can use the on-board emulator found on the C6713DSK and indeed get conversion results back through USB to your PC.  The ADS8361EVM is built such that you have the ability to plug it onto the interface card or directly wire it into your favorite (TI) processor as well.  There are a number of code examples that you can find from the Technical Documents link off of the ADS8361 product folder that might help get you started.
