ADS7951 EVK Error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7951, ADCPRO

Hi,

I started to utilize the TI ADS7951  and I see that when using a fast sampling rate, the reading are not accurate.

I am trying to test it on the EVB you provide me but get this error:

"Unable to locate the LabVIEW Run-Time engine. adcpro requires a version 8.5.1 (or compatible) Lab-VIEW Run-Time Engine. Please contact the vendor of ADCpro to correct this problem"

It looks like it supports only Win XP. I tried it on Win XP now and it doesn't work… it once recognized it and now the PC doesn't see it at all.

When I work in sampling rate of 1sps, it looks good. Once I raise the sampling rate to 100K I see that the measurement is not accurate.

Instead of 1000mV, I get 1020mV, and instead of 4V, I get ~3980mV. the reference voltage is 2.5V and only when I measure 2500mV, I get exactly 2500mV.

I looked with scope on the input and I see while sampling, a ripple of ~10-20mV of Sawtooh at the sampling rate frequency…

What could that be?

BR,

Rotem.

ADCPro at this time only supports WinXP, so if you are using it on Win7, you may see erratic behavior or just not work.  We hope to have support for Win7 shortly (you can see a post that describes our efforts at the top of the forum post list).

So are you running on Win7 when you see the problems? Or WinXP?  We need to better understand what you are seeing to help diagnose the problem.  It appears as though you do get it working, so that should indicate the Runtime Engine is installed.  Additionally, as long as you have run both the ADCPro installer and the ADS7951 plug-in installer, the Runtime Engines should be installed as part of those installers. Do you have anything additional in terms of LabVIEW installed on your PC?
