ADS1243 Offset drift question

Customer issue:   The Gain Error Drift is specified in the datasheet as 0.5 ppm/C (typ).  It is also noted that calibration can minimize this error.

Question(s) -

What is the worst case (max) Gain Error Drift ?

How is the overall gain error and gain error drift corrected by calibration

Thanks,

Dave

  • Dave,

There is no max spec as this parameter is not tested at final test. The gain calibration does an end point fit for full scale and assumes that offset calibration has been completed first.  The SELFCAL does both, doing the offset cal first.  Periodic, or if in the case where you know the device sees a dramtic temperature change, a calibration procedure can be completed so that the temperature drift error can be removed.
