Offset Calibration?

Hi,

I wrote program in C &working fine but connecting to some load cells getting counts more than 500K. I did not apply offset calibration..

What are the impacts due to not applying offset calibration, is the above issue due to the same or any other reason..

Navin,

500k counts is pretty excessive for an offset as that is nearing full scale. The offset cal for the ADS1230 will adjust the offset error of the ADC itself. It places an internal short and sets the code output for zero code. If you have an offset due to your system, the offset cal procedure will not adjust it out as the ADS1230 does not have a system calibration option.

Is it possible for me to see your schematic? Have you taken a voltmeter and actually measured the ADC inputs? What is your reference voltage? What is your load cell excitation voltage?
