Regarding ADC1232 Stable Output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1232

hello,

i could not get stable output. i connected ciruit same as figure 42 in ADS1232.

My Program logic it:

step 1:  PDWN pin is HiGH

Step 2 : Perform Offset Calibration

Step 3:  Wait untill DRDY will goes LOW

Step 4:  Read Data By Applying 24 Clocks

Step 5: Display Data

Step 6: Go to Step 3

are there any thing is wrong in my flow chart

thanks

hari

  • Hari,

Welcome to the forum!  I see that you also posted in an older posting, but it is always better to begin with a new posting as you have done here.  Your basic flow is correct, however keep in mind that it takes several conversion cycles for the digital filter to settle.  After about 4 conversions you should see the data output become more stable.

There is also another consideration, and that is noise.  The noise is created from external and internal sources to the ADS1232.  Poor PCB layout, including inadequate bypassing and grounding, can also contribute to the noise.

To help me understand your particular situation, what GAIN and SPEED settings are you using?  By how many codes is the output varying?  Are you using 5V for AVDD and is it the same supply used for the load cell excitation?  Can you send me your layout (gerbers preferably)?

    Best regards,

    Bob B
