Hi Luis,

The ADS1298 uses a 'Serial Peripheral Interface' (SPI) to communicate with its host processor. To the best of my knowledge, the MSP430G2211 does not include a peripheral capable of performing the necessary serial communications with the ADS1298. In this series of MSP430, you would want to look at the G2102, G2121, etc. For the code side of things, we don't have anything available with the MSP430G2xxx family of parts that would be compatible with the ADS1298. We might be able to help you get the SPI peripheral setup and provide some PSEUDO code for basic operation though. Let us know which processor you settle on and we'll go from there.

and i have the MSP430G2231 it is 16 bit, and has SPI,

i want example to activate the ads1298 with MSP430G2231 with SPI

Hi Luis,

You'll need to set the MSP430G2231 USI up for SPI, Master Mode. The USI CKPL and CKPH bits should both be '0'. It is probably easiest to configure the USI to 8-bit mode leaving USI16B = 0. The data transfer is MSB first and you'll need to transfer 3-bytes to get the STATUS detail followed by 9-bytes to retrieve the conversion data. In your schematic, you are connected to CH2 and CH3. When you read back the data, you'll have to accommodate CH1 as well. You can ignore the contents of the CH1 buffer, but you still need to clock it out.

You may want to look at the ADS1292 as well. There is an MSP430F5529 on the ADS1292ECG-FE board that also uses the USI to configure the ADS1292. There is example source code available for that hardware on our FTP site - you may be able to get some insight for your project from that. Here is a link to the source code:
