Hi Carletta
NOPB indicates a "no lead" or "no Pb" product. This is a terminology used in the National Semiconductor component ordering systems to indicate which products are in lead free packaging. Most products are lead-free, but some are available with lead to meet the needs of certain markets.
Please see the ordering information on these pages
http://www.national.com/popr/ADC10D1000.html#Order
http://www.national.com/quality/green/comppdf.cgi?partno=ADC10D1000CIUT
which show the /NOPB suffix (no lead) and no-suffix (with lead) versions of the ADC10D1000 that are available. [UPDATE: Any currently available with-lead versions of the ADC10D1000 and any similar devices in the Thermally Enhanced Plastic 292 BGA package are no longer being produced and will be phased out as inventory is depleted.]
I hope this is helpful.
Best regards,
