ADCPro install failure

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO

I have attempted to install ADCPro on a Win 7 Professional 64-bit system several times. Installing the launcher seems to work just fine, but running it and trying to "Get ADCPro" always ends up with the message "Unable to download adcpro-setup-2.0.1.exe. Aborting conversion process. Please try again later." I have tried on different days and I removed and re-installed the launcher; nothing helped so far. What else can I do?

In addition, the launcher couldn't open the file ADCProLauncherHelp.chm, though the file worked just fine if I opened it manually (the chm file is in the correct directory). Then I noticed that the file name had spaces between words. Changing the file name (removing the two extra spaces) fixed that problem (in other words, the installer has a bug and incorrectly names the chm file).

Thanks,

DBB

  • DBB -

Sorry for the inconvenience using ADCPro - this is a known issue that we are working to resolve given that the download utility cannot identify the connection correctly.

In the mean-time, you should be able to download the main application at the following location: ftp://ftp.ti.com/pub/data_acquisition/ADCPro2/adcpro-setup-2.0.1.exe

NOTE:  This software link is valid of the date of this posting and will change for future releases.

Hopefully this should resolve your issue, but please let us know if you continue to have problems.

  • It's March, 2015, and the problem still isn't fixed -- not on the distro CD with my ADS1147-EVM/PDK (launcher complains about corruption), not on what I downloaded directly (can't find internet connection). And I have to register and hunt through the forum to find this, rather than read it in the user's guides. I can't say I'm pleased.
  • Dear Eric,

thank you for your honest feedback. We can very well understand your frustration and we apologize for the inconvenience. The team is working very hard on a new EVM platform (both hardware and software). We hope to have a better user experience with this new platform in the future.

In case you encounter any further issues with our devices or EVMs please do not hesitate to post your questions in our e2e forum.

    Regards,
  • Hello Eric -

As an additional note to Joachim's comments, we have removed the download functionality in the version available on the web.  Due to all the different computer configurations, this did not offer the solution that we had hoped and was therefore removed.

If it is still appearing, we can share how to disable it - it is relatively easy to do.  After that, you can just manually download the individual plugins.
