TSW1250 + ADS6445 source code

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS6445, ADS5281

Hi,

I've got 2x TSW1250 and 2x ADS6445 that both behave in the same erratic way.  I've followed the documentation and installed the proper software for both devices.  When I follow the tutorial on using the internal pattern generator to capture a saw tooth wave I get a very strange and noisy pattern.  I also receive no signal when directly connecting a function generator to the adc input channels.  It might be helpful if I could get the source sent to the following email account: kogee.leung@yahoo.ca

  • Hi,

The TSW1250 may not support the ADS6445.  The TSW1200 is meant to support the ADS6445 EVM.  The TSW1250 is supported by our Medical and High Reliability group, and there is a HiRel forum here for support for the TSW1250 or for the devices from the Medical Group.  The ADS6445 *is* supported in this forum as a high speed data converter as is the TSW1200.   I know the serial format firmware for the TSW1200 can accept data from either a 1-wire format like ADS5281 or a 2-wire format like ADS6445.  The TSW1250 had to support more types of serial format, but all of the formats I am aware of are 1-wire.  I don't know if they left 2-wire support in there.  If you try to capture 2-wire serial data with an FPGA that is expecting 1-wire serial then your results will be very scrambled.  Or if you reconfigure the jumpers on the ADS6445 EVM to be 1-wire serial then this might work but at a lower max sampling rate.

As to whether the TSW1250 can support the 2-wire serial format of the ADS6445, the medical group would have to confirm that and answer any questions about it.   I cannot provide the source code for the TSW1250 as I do not have it.

I can move this thread to the HiRel forum if you wish to pursue the TSW1250.  If you find you really need to work with the TSW1200 instead then we would leave this discussion here.
