ADS1271 SPI Clock

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1271

Hi,

I'm using ADS1271 and I need to speed up the data recovery using SPI interface. My idea is to increase the SPI clock (SCLK) but I'm already at the limit specified in the datasheed that is equal to main CLK. (SCLK may be run as fast as the CLK frequency)

I try to exceed this limit setting an SCLK that is twice CLK and it seems that all works fine. Also the accuracy is good without appreciable differences respect when it works with SCLK=CLK. Someone has already done this kind of test? With what results? Have you found any problem in particular that should be analyzed in more depth?

I'm working now with a CLK equal to 5.6 MHz.

Thank you.

  • Hi Daniele,

We've not characterized the ADS1271 with an SCLK higher than the modulator clock.  We could not guarantee that this would work with every device under all operating conditions.  Is there a specific reason why you need to have a faster serial clock?
