ADS129xECG-FE missing libusb0.dll on Windows 7

I have copied the libusb0.dll files from 

C:\Program Files (x86)\ADS129xECG-FE\lib_1298\Styx\usbstyx_drivers\ia64

to

C:\Windows\SysWOW64

and the message is not coming up anymore but i still get a bunch of error messages starting with: 

Missing external function cstyx.dll:cstyx_xy:....... and Connection failure in the software

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the ADS1298 software on your Win7 Laptop. The C:\Program Files (x86)\ADS129xECG-FE\lib_1298\Styx\usbstyx_drivers\ia64 is where the libusb0.dll file is located on my laptop and it seems to be working just fine.  Do you have full administrative rights on the machine you are having trouble with?

Yes i even actived the Administrator account and reinstalled the software with the same results.

I installed everthing with the file: ads129xecg-fe-setup-1.1.0.exe

I just tryed with a new Windows 7 64bit laptop out of the box. It gives me the same "missing libusb0.dll" message.

Can you try using the attached file and see if this fixes the problem?  It is a setup file to install the driver information that appears to not have functioned properly in the full installer.  Please let us know if this seems to fix the problem and we will wrap it into the full installer.

Do you mind trying one more time?  We've identified the problem, now it is just verifying a solution.

Okay after running the setup2.exe the libusb.dll error does not apear anymore. But i still get the missing function message after loading. please see screenshot.

Can you check to see if you have a file named cstyx.dll present in the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\ADS129xECG-FE\lib_1298\Styx\cstyx\win32?

I have the same issue with missing external functions on this install.

(I was also having problems with the libusb0.dll until I installed the Setup2 file you posted here)

Hello! No the problem is not solved yet. As other mates have the same problem with Windows Vista/7 i have downgraded to XP now.

I will use XP as well to do the evaluation.

I assume the problem is with all variants of Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)

OK got it working in Windows XP mode (Windows Virtual PC emulation) on my HP Laptop

I hope TI fix the Windows 7 problem soon

Unfortunately not. As per Lars suggestion I got it to work in XP mode (Emulation on Windows 7 Pro)

Please advise if you solve the problem with WIndows 7 64bit

Unfortuantely,my machine with Win7 (64 bit) using XP SP3 compatibilty mode for the app did not work for me.

Have you tried using the installer (Setup2.exe) that is located in the referenced posts?

If you look at the other post, I noted that I indeed tried setup2.exe.  After running that, it no longer complained that it couldn't find the dll. However, it still complained that it could not find the same bunch of functions.

to run the software in windows 7 the best method is copy C:\Program Files (x86)\ADS129xECG-FE\lib_1298\Styx\cstyx\win32" and open the program.

you can find the dll file in system32 folder of windows

The ADS1298ECG-FE software will update to v1.1.1 sometime today.  This version of the software has the update driver installation included, the setup3.exe was never intended for distribution.

In the meantime, if you would like I can send you the link to the new software via your contact information from your account if that is OK with you.

Following this thread, I presumed that the problem with libusb0.dll was solved. I downloaded the setup file from http://www.ti.com/tool/ads1298ecgfe-pdk  (version 1.1.1). Running the setup file I am experiencing a problem. Error message pops up a window stating: " There was problem starting libusb0.dll. The specified module could not be found." . Clicking OK shows that USB Styx Driver Installation Setup is complete and the installation process continues with installing ADS129xECG-FE.

Once the installation is complete I connect the ADS1298ECG-FE - PDK (out of the box, no external signal connection made) to the computer through USB cable and power up the board. Launching the ADS1298/8R EVM Evaluation Software, after a couple of messages on the right hand corner of the window, following message shows up: USB connection established...No firmware found...Downloading". Then it states "Download failed...reset hardware". Next, a windows pops up with the message: "The firmware load has failed due to timeout condition. Please reset the hardware to continue loading the firmware". Clicking OK leads to another window stating: "Connection and FW Load Failed! Please check your connection/configuration and try again". Clicking OK leads to a repeat of the same messages that I had stated above. 

I am not sure what is the problem here. The User Guide of this board states that  J13A and J13B of MMB0 should be open. I found out J13A and J13B but am not sure if they are open/close. I haven't made any change to the factory setting of the board. Is this something that I need to do?

As it is difficult to identify the exact cause of the problem I have provided all the information that I could in terms of where and what problems I am facing. My system specification is as follows: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1, 64 bit OS.

Can you confirm you have ADMIN privileges on the PC you are trying to install the software on?

A quick update: I was able to fix the dll issue. Seems like the dll file was corrupt. Replacing the dll file led to smooth installation of the software. However I am still getting the "Download failed..." message (as described in my first post). Any suggestion as to how this can be fixed?

What dll file did you replace (from where to where?)

I am currently having the same issue even with the new setup file.  I am installing the program on a Windows 7 64-bit and during installation I get the message "There was a problem starting libusb0.dll. The specified module could not be found."  I have been troubleshooting using all of the threads and comments from multiple forums however I am still unable to fix this problem.  When I attempt to run the program it times out when attempting to connect the DSP ("DSP not ready....Retrying"). 

Help on this issue would be much appreciated.

i am tryining to run my ADS1298ECGDE-PDK with the ADS1198/ EVM software. I try to run it on my windows 8 64bit laptop, but I cant, i get the message: "The programm can't start because libusb0.dll is missing from computer. ..." I run as administrator and installed it a several times and copied the libusb0.dll from the programs folder to different spots but i always get the same error message.
