Hi,
I am using TPS40200HD part marking " 40200s, 02K A0Q0 GR ". The part is used in Down hole(Oil & Gas industry) Sensor Electronics. I have encountered 4th failure on this IC.
When Failure occurs there is no output & further troubleshooting reveled that the voltage at SS Pin-2 is sitting at 80mV causing no switching The waveform at RC -Pin1 looks ok (2V, pk_pk, 274 KHz).
These failures are quite expensive and the tool must come out of the borehole that can take hours depending how deep it has been drilled.
I would like to send the IC back to TI for further analysis. My guess is that the internal Regulator for SS circuit might be damage.
I would say that the tool has experience close to 10 hours at 150C over a period of 6 month & may be close to 60 Hours around 125C. These failures are happening over a period of time
