I am trying to communicate ADS1118 with Atmel128 microcontroller. I am trying to read the value of internal temperature sensor value. but i am not getting value in the dout pin. kindly help me to read the internal temperature sensor value. I have made the SPI connections correctly.

Hi Naveneetha,

Welcome to the forum! When you first power the ADS1118 it will be in one-shot mode. You either need to start a conversion by writing the Config register bit 15 high, or change to continuous conversion mode (bit 8). The other bit that needs to change is the TS_Mode bit in the Config register (bit 4) to high.

I tried this but still i am not getting any signal in DOUT. Can you suggest me how to test the ADS1118 is working or not.

Navaneetha,

Can you send me a schematic, code snippet of your communication, configuration settings you are using, and some oscilloscope pictures of your comunication? One thing to remember is that CS must remain low throughout the entire transaction.
