ADS1232Ref software install on Win7

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1232REF

I just attempted the PC installation of the ADS1232Ref software.  I seem to have run into the same problem as this user:

http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/precision_data_converters/f/73/t/83313.aspx

Have the Windows 7 driver issues been resolved?

I read the manual and heeded the warnings about the driver, and it seemed to go correctly the first time.  The program works fine, it's just the USB driver that doesn't.  Same "TUSB" in the Device Manager, as reported in the earlier issue.  Deleting and re-installing it didn't help.  Switches in JTAG/USB, Scale/Analysis they don't make a difference.

  • Steven,

The post you referred to was not a driver issue, but rather a software issue.  You can download the Win7 version of the software from the TI ftp server:

    ftp://ftp.ti.com/pub/data_acquisition/ADS123xREF/ads1x3x-setup-withlvrt-1.4.0.exe

There is a driver installer embedded within the ADS1x3x installer for the virtual com port.  If you run the installer multiple times you will accidentally uninstall the drivers if you are not careful.  I have no control over the operation of the virtual com port installer, but the way it works is the first time it is run it will install the drivers, the next time uninstall (assumes an update), the next time install, and so on.  The best thing to do is make sure that the ADS1232REF shows up as a COM port serial device in device manager when connected to the USB.  If it does not, you will need to run the installer again.

    Best regards,

  • Bob,

As usual, the latest software update does the trick.  It worked first try.  Data is scrolling across the little graph as I write.

    Thank you
