TSW1200EVM Source Code

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS58C48, ADS5281EVM

Hello,  I am evaluating the ADS58C48 for use in an experiment at Fermilab.  At some point I will need to design a board that is close, in terms of functionality, to the TSW1200EVM.  I'll be using a Xilinx FPGA, USB, and I'll be adding a serial (fiber) output to "stream" the data down to another system.  I've noticed on the forums that source code is only available upon request, so I'm requesting the source code for the TSW1200, including FPGA code, constraint files, and Labview source code (for the GUI).  You can send the information to:

tcmoore@illinois.edu

Thanks in advance for your help,

  • Todd,  Would you prefer the TSW1200 (Xilinx Virtex 4 based, 64k samples) or the TSW1400 (Altera Stratix IV based, 1Gsample)?  We currently have FPGA projects based on our TSW1400 that may be easier to work with than our TSW1200.  We also have API/DLL already written to allow you to directly interface to our TSW1400+ADS EVM to control capture and offloading of data from labview/C/Matlab.  This may meet your needs already unless you want to do something different.

I'm recommending the TSW1400 just because it is in general more flexible and easier to support vs the older TSW1200.

  • Thanks, Ken C for the quick response :-)  I already have the TSW1200 (not sure if i can get approval for TSW1400). I'll be buffering the incoming adc data into a 1 sec fifo, then sending the data out of the fpga/fiber at about 1 Gb/s down to another board that will process the data and send it to a read out system (a bunch of PCs).  I'll be using a xilinx fpga, but not yet sure which one, somewhere between Virtex-4 and Virtex-7, so the xilinx code would be great.

    Thanks again,

  • Hi,

Buffering enough data for about 1second of data capture is a lot of memory.  The TSW1200 can only capture 65536 samples.  The TSW1400 has a DDR memory stick on it and can capture as much as 512 M samples.  This might be be closer to what you want in the first place.  Take a look at it.

  • Hello,

I still haven't received any source code for the TSW1200 EVM, including of FPGA code, constraint files and labview source code (for the GUI)? My email address is: tcmoore@illinois.edu

    Thanks again in advance,

  • Sent to the address provided, with the exception that we do not supply the Labview source code of the GUI.

    Regards,

    Richard P.

  • Could you send a cope of verilog code for TSW1200 to zhouh@sari.ac.cn

I currently have a project which need to interface TI ADS5281EVM with xilinx ML605EVM.

    Thank you
