save the data by the wavevision5

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WAVEVISION5, ADC12D1600RB

Hi,

There are some questions about the data storage of  Wavevision5 software.

The Wavevision5 user's guide says that  the signal data is routed to a destination, where it is stored or displayed .At the same time, however, it says that the WaveVision5 software currently supports one type of signal destination-plots. Does this mean that I can only save the plot rather than data?

I want to save the data from the ADC12D1600RB directly.  Is there any way to make it with the WV5?

Kind regards,

Mia

  • Hi Mia

To save the data from WV5 directly, first capture the data so that it appears as a plot on the WV5 software. With the transient data displayed on the plot, go to the 'channels' tab on the left side of the window, open it, and observe the options available for each display channel. Most likely, you captured the data to channel 1 (the data appears red). By floating the mouse over the available buttons in the channels tab, you will find 'Export data to an ASCII raw data file'. Use that feature to export the data.

  • Hi Josh,

Thanks for your reply. But in my case we want to save the data without clicking the 'Export data' button. That is to say, we want to save the data when they are just acquired from the ADC board. It seems that the WV5 software can't make it, right? Is there anything we can do?

    Kind regards, Mia

  • Mia,

The ability to capture data and export directly to a data file requires the use of the WaveVIsion 5 DLL to get the data array within a small script that you can also use to export to a file. Please find more details about the DLL in the following thread:
