ADC128S102QML input current (single pin)

During a worst case analysis it was determined that the worst case input current to a ADC128S102QML could be 58.1mA for a period of 10microseconds. The datasheet rates the input current to be 10mA continuously. Is this an issue for the ESD protection diodes?

    James,

    Yes going over the 10mA Absolute Max rating in the datasheet for any period of time may cause damage to the device is not recomended. Keeping in mind the obvious impact to sampling performance an option to look into may be to use a current limiting resistor.
