Connection of FMC DAC Card and DAC34SH84EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC34SH84, FMC-DAC-ADAPTER, CDCE62005

Can the 2 differential clocks of the fmc dac adapter be used to provide the dacclk and the dataclk to the dac34sh84evm from fpga?
Also, how are the pins of the fmc card and the DAC connected? IS there any schematic available for the connections?

  • Jas,

The two differential clocks on the FMC-DAC-adapter are EXT_DCLK and FPGA_CLK. The EXT_DCLK is routed to the DAC34SH84's DATACLK pins, and the FPGA_CLK are the reference clock coming from the DAC34SH84EVM CDCE62005 clock distribution chip back to the FPGA for reference clock.

You will need to provide the DACCLK externally. The pins on the adapter and the EVM do not have direct connections to the DACCLK.
