ADS 1298 - Data Output (DOUT)

Hi ,

I have configured an ADS 1298 as illustrated in figure 74 (page 76) of the datasheet, and I am able to see “DataReady” pulsing 250 times per second. Today my colleague told me that by mistake he connected the analog power supply (5V) in reverse polarity and since then I can see the “DataReady” pulses in “Dataout” pin as well, now I’m wondering if ADS 1298 is blown? Is there an easy way to test if the hardware is functioning correctly?

Hi Alborz,

Hard to say if the chip is blown but I can tell you that you should see the DRDY line on the DOUT as well. The DOUT in the interface actually behaves as a DRDY/DOUT pin and should mirror the DRDY behavior when no SCLKs are sent and the converter is running idle.
