Noise related issues and Firmware/Labview code for ADS1258EVM with DSP board MMB0

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO, ADS1258EVM-PDK, ADS1258

Dear TI Employee and members,

I have bought ADS1258EVM-PDK with MMB0 DSP board for acquiring 16 channel data from an image sensor and got it working with my Arduino mega2560 (without MMB0) except for relatively a bit high noise levels upto 5mV, the reason is still not yet clear where it is coming from. To be sure that there is no problem with the ADS1258EVM converter I have removed the Arduino and sensor from ADS1258 EVM and connected it to MMB0 board and applied dc voltages (1-3V) from power supply on 16  channels simultaneously and checked it with ADCPro software. Amazingly the noise levels are much lower (upto 17µV) so it means there is no problem on converter side. I guess the noise may be coming from Transimpedance amplifier that is connected to the sensor or the sensor itself. Can someone please suggest some possible solutions to this problem?

Secondly I want to explore a bit more with the firmware and Labview programs of the ads1258EVM. Please provide me with the Firmware and Labview codes for ADS1258EVM with MMB0? Please send me password on faisal.rehman30@gmail.com.

Many Thanks,

Faisal

  • Hi Faisal,

Do you have a schematic of the amplifier circuit and how are you connecting all these components together? It could be amplifier noise or it could be the result of bad grounding between components. Also, are you looking at the rms noise or peak-to-peak noise?

I attempted to send you a zip file with the software, but gmail would not accept it. Please click on my E2E profile name and start a private conversation with me. I will attach the file there.

    Regards,
    Chris
