Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298R, ADS1298
Hi all!
Just received ads1298r eval. module (mmb0 motherboard + ads1298 frontend).
I'm going to use it as 8-channel portable ECG monitor device which communicates with Android/iPhone over Bluetooth.. I've read from datasheet that frontend communicates with motherboard via SPI protocol.
So I can connect ads1298 frontend with any BT module which uses SPI, right?
Could you please give a bit deeper explanation how can i implement it?
1. How does 1298 send signal through SPI?
2. How could BT module receive SPI signal? Does it have to be with some kind of custom firmware?
3. And could you please suggest low-power-consumption BT module which is better for that kind of applications?
4. Just one more question about 1298 frontend:
a) It has 22k resistor for each input channel.
b) Looks like there is no circuit of Philips wire which is recommended by datasheet. I got J&J wire which is probably the same and should work but it doesn't. There is no appropriate signal on PC screen except if i just touch 1298 input connector with my finger - then there is something looking quite close to correct ECG diagram :)
c) J&J wire has 10 kOhm resistance per channel.
So 22k + 10k shouldn't be a problem isn't it? If so then what settings should i look for? All jumpers on the board and frontend seem to be on correct positions.
