ADS1118 USB interface to Sitara ARM335X

I am new to Sitara ARM processor programming. Recently we bought Sitara ARM335x and ADS1118 to design a hand held device to measure the temperature of the instruments. Currently we have Linux SDK installed on ubuntu 10.04 for programming the Sitara board. Please can anyone help me to get the sample code to read the ADS1118 using USB interface on Sitara board and also on ubuntu.

Hi Mamatha,

I don't have any code specific to Sitara or any other ARM processors. The only code examples I have is for the MSP430. You can find an example project using the ADS1118 including some C code showing the process of communicating to the ADS1118.

Thanks Bob,

Is there any sample code for ADS1118 connecting Linux laptop through SM-USB-DIG(TUSB3210) ? This will help in communicating the DIG, later I can try for ARM Sitara.

Hi Mamatha,

The SM-USB-DIG should enumerate as a HID class device. But that is only part of the story. You need to have a means to communicate to the HID device. The GUI software supplied with the ADS1118EVM kit is LabView based and is currently only supported for MS-Win operating systems. You will have to develop a means to communicate through the HID device driver.
