how to configure AFM4300 's IOUT (+ve and -ve)and VSENS(+ve,-ve) pin for body composition measurement

Hi,

I just read the datasheet of AFM4300... I want to develop a bio electric impedance measuring instrument....I couldn't understand , how to configure IOUT0..5 pins as +ve and -ve terminal to send signal to body  and same in the case of VSENS0.. 5 Pins... can anyone reply??

  • Hello Manu,

The IOUTP[5:0] switches (Register address 0x0A, b15-b10) allows the selection of upto 6 different contact points on the body for current injection and these switches route the IOUTP channels to the negative input of the OPAMP1.

The IOUTN[5:0] switches (Register address 0x0A, b7-b2) selects the return path contact on the body and these switches route the IOUTN channels to the output of the OPAMP1 thus closing the loop.

The VSENSEP[5:0] switches (Register address 0x0B, b15-b10) route the VSENSEP channels to the positive input of the differential amplifier.

The VSENSEN[5:0] switches (Register address 0x0B, b7-b2) route the VSENSEN channels to the negative input of the differential amplifier.

This set of multiplexers connects the differential amplifier across the body impedance in order to measure the voltage drop created by the injected current.
