ADS 1299 SPI communication with Beagle Bone Rev A3

Hello TI,

I am currently trying to read the SPI output of an ADS 1299EEGFE-PDK with a Beagle Bone Rev A3.

The Beagle Bone is running the Angström distribution, the image is dated 2012/11/22.

For the SPI communication, I am using the custom SPI extension module for Python by Volker Thoms, adapted by Dan Watts for the Beagle Board and available on the personal blog of the latter (GigaMegaBlog).

I have some trouble finding information regarding an eventual voltage limitation for the pin 29 of the Beagle Bone used as the MISO and therefore have two questions:

-Is it safe for both components to connect directly the ADS's data output pin to the Beagle Bone MISO (pin 29)?

-Moreover, is it the efficient way to read the ADS's data output pin with the Beagle Board?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Regards,

Adrien
