TSC2046 interfacing with launchpad

What is tcs2046 can you post a link to the device? Is it TI device? If not I belive you should post this question in MSP430 forums.

I believe this was a Typo and that the part number in question is the TSC2046 Touch Screen controller.

I am afraid that there are no direct examples for TSC2046 and MSP430 as far as I know.

What we can offer you here are some guidelines where to look and ho to start.

According to device datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tsc2046.pdf) it uses simple SPI interface. I recommend focusing on 3-wire mode. You pull CS (chip select) low and connect 3 signals to your MCU: clock, data in and data out. 

You can find numerous examples on setting up SPI with MSP430 Launchpad but I recommend looking into examples from MSP430Ware. If you have CCSv5 you probably already have it. Just press View --> TI Resource Explorer --> MSP430ware --> Devices --> MSP430G2xx --> Code Examples --> MSP430G2x53. You will find there sample SPI projects msp430g2xx3_uscia0_spi_09, msp430g2xx3_uscia0_spi_10.

If you will have troubles setting your SPI you can always use Grace.  

TSC2046 datasheet is your best friend here. You will find control byte description there as well as other information related to data format.

I just fixed my problem of usng ads7843, a earlier version of tsc2046.

My experience is: try to find an evm board which uses tcs2046 and download the bsp/bsl for that evm.

tcs2046 is used in omap3530 evm, and the related code can be downloaded, you can follow instructions on http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdsevm3530, pretty useful.
