LMP91200 pH sensor - Analog only?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP91200, MSP430F5509, MSP430F2013

I have a question about the LMP91200 sensor chip.

At the moment, I don't need to use the SPI programming options and I would like to use it just as an analog circuit element.

My question is, will the chip power up and operate with the default settings (as on page 19 of the data sheet) with no activity on the SPI interface.

Also, what would you recommend for the unused SDI pins?

Should I pull them either low or high to minimize power consumption.

  • Hi, David.

I've the same problem. When I use MSP430F2013 as 16-bit ADC and MSP430F5509 as USB-bridge (see attachment), SPI programming options do operates only when all chips ere fed with power of 3.3 V.

As for the default settings, You can find it  at

    SNAS571B.pdf of   June 25,2012  fn page 20 (of 25):

By the way,  David, do You know how get the Gain ogf 0/25-0.5

For example, I'd like to measure voltage range (-2;+2) V on BNC connector, LMP91200 has only 5 or 10 gain values, ADC can take a signal from (-0.6 ; +0.6 V)?
