DAC3283 FIFO Collision

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC3283EVM

Hi,

I'm trying to configure dac3283evm with gui, problem i'm facing is FIFO Collisions is enabling. I tried with basic ones given with installer but problem is same..

what could be the reason..

thanks,

Naveen

  • Hello Naveen,

FIFO collision could occur when the FIFO and clock divider are not synchronized correctly at start-up or when the DACCLK and DATACLK do not have the correct frequency relationship given the interpolation setting.

There are a few sections of the following app note that could help you troubleshoot the FIFO collision alarm. The device family is different, but the concept is the same:

The DACCLK and DATACLK relationship can be found in the attached slides.

You should also try to clear the FIFO collision alarm in the GUI by setting the radio button to zero. The alarms in CONFIG7 has memory feature and will require clearing before reflecting the latest errors. This is to ensure the alarms are detected during polling intervals.
