TSW1400EVM CMOS interface

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE7070

The product page for the TSW1400 EVM says that a CMOS interface will be supported in a future firmware upgrade.  However, the technical documents and a TI sponsored You Tube video that I saw imply that the CMOS interface is working.  Does anyone know if it is, or is the firmware upgrade still in the future?

  • Hi,

TSW1400 has been working with CMOS interface since last year. Do you have specific TI CMOS EVM for testing?

    Thanks,

    KW

  • Thanks.

We are looking at the AFE7070 and are considering purchasing the EVM for it.  The documentation for the AFE7070EVM tells you to use a TSW3100 to drive the data lines but that is very expensive and appears to be obsolete.  I just wanted to confirm that I did not have to do my own LVDS to CMOS translation to hook the TSW1400 up.

  • Hi,

The user guide will be updated soon. For AFE7070EVM interface with TSW1400, please refer to attached slide. This is a quick user guide for the setup.

    Thanks,

  • It is not clear from the Quick Guide provided in the last response, or other documentation that I can find, how to properly align the CMOS interface connectors of the AFE7070EVM and the TSW1400.

I've looked at the schematics of both boards, but since the 1400 is based on an FPGA it is impossible to know the pin assignments without further information.

I later realized that I got confused by looking at the first picture in the Quick Guide too long.  I assumed that it showed how the boards should be connected.  From the 2nd picture it appears that it simply is a matter of hooking Pin 1 of J1 on the 1400 board to Pin 1 of J8 on the 707 board.  Is that correct?

  • Hi,

Pin '1' of J8 in AFE7070EVM has to be connected to pin '1' of J1 in TSW1400. I deleted one slide from user guide and attached an updated one. The slide 3 from previous one was wrong one. I should've removed. Please find attached and ignore previous.

    Thanks,

    KW
