DAC8728 VMON not used

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8728

Hi,

We are designing a board that will use the DAC8728. We do not need the VMON pin and we do not program the control register to output anything on this pin. Should we leave this pin disconnected on our board or tie it to ground or something else? Please advise...

Thanks,
Marc

  • Hello Marc,

When VMON is not in use it is a high-impedance node. There shouldn't be any problem with leaving it floating or connecting it to ground. Should it ever accidentally be written to, though, having it connected to either a supply potential or ground might cause problems.
