Query on AMC1200

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1200, INA333

Hi,

My customer is using the AMC1200 for an Inverter application.

AMC1200 is working fine. But there is one query about the output signal that he has.

The signal that he is getting is differential.

How to get output signal with respect to Ground?

Thanks ... SUM.

  • Hi Sum,

We are looking into a solution for you that would take the differential output to a single ended (GND referenced) signal.  What are you following the AMC1200 with?  Are you feeding this into an A2D converter to digitize the waveform?  If so, what is your input voltage range?

  • Hello SUM,

One option you have is to feed the output of the AMC1200 into an INA333. Attached is a TINA schematic of this solution. Note that your customer will need to provide an adequate voltage level to the REF pin (pin 5) of the INA333 in order to ensure the output stays within the linear range of the INA.

Depending on your customer’s voltage swing requirements, they could also take the output directly from the VOUTP terminal (pin 7) of the AMC1200. Such output is referenced to ground and has either a 1.29V offset or a 2.55V offset depending on the value of VDD2 as stated in the AMC1200 datasheet. One caveat to this approach is that the output swing will be half of the total differential output swing.

Let us know if your customer has any further questions.

    Best regards,
