DAC8560 power-down time from full power mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8560

Hello,

The datasheet for the DAC8560 states a power-up time of 2.5us from power-down when operating from 5V and 5us when operating from 3V; however, the power-down time is not specified.  Is the time from full power mode to power-down mode characterized and specified?

Thanks

  • Hello,

I am going through the characterization data to see if this figure exists and the design data to see if I can provide for you an educated guess of how quick the power-down function should enact.

The output impedance of the device should change nearly instantaneously, these switches are usually extremely fast. The rest of the device may take a little bit longer to reach the low supply currents mentioned in the datasheet though.

I will get back to you with our findings.

  • Hello,

Both the output impedance and current consumption of the device should enter the power down state nearly instantaneously. There is no intentional delay placed in the circuitry.

Perhaps something on the order of a few nanoseconds.
