No Missing Code specification of ADS8515I

Hello,

ADS85815 datasheet(SLAS460D) page 3 describe ADS8515I grade specification as follows.

     No Missing Code: 16Bit min.

     DNL: -1LSB min.,  2LSB max.

I believe that DNL maximum is 2LSB and greater than 1LSB, so No Missing Code should be 15LSB min.

Please advice if “No Missing Code: 16Bit min.” is typo or correct.

In case of 16Bit is correct, please explain the reason.

Best Regards.

  • Ushikubo-san,

I believe the "16 bit no missing code" specification is correct. It implies that the device can have a minimum DNL > -1LSB. In other words, the specification allows for codes to be arbitrarily short but not 0LSB wide. In Production testing we screen out parts that have min DNL = -1 after accounting for test system measurement error.

    Best Regards,
