ADS8410 and SN65LVDS152

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVDS152

We are working with 4 units of ADS8410 connected in daisy chain (according to Fig. 10 in the data sheet of ADS8410). The outputs of the last ADC in the chain are connected to two units of SN65LVDS152 deserializers (according to Fig. 20 in the same data sheet).

The ADCs get an external clock with frequency of 3MHz. The "convert-start" signal is given at a frequency which is 16 times lower. Even though the ADCs seem to be responsive (their LVDS and BUSY lines are active), and the output data and clock lines of the deserializers are active as well, we cannot read any meaningful data.

For example, although we keep the analog input voltage to the ADCs at a constant value, we read different values from the 16-bit output lines of the deserializers (the data read from both MSB and LSB data-lines keeps changing with time).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Orit
