ADS1298ECGFE-PDK with Windows 7

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298ECGFE-PDK

Hi,

I am having trouble connecting my ADS1298ECGFE-PDK to my 64-bit Windows 7 machine.

I initially downloaded software v1.1.1 (assumed suitable for use with Win7) from the TI website. Succeffuly installed the ADS129xECG-FE component, but while installing the USBStyx driver, the following error appears:

"There was a problem starting libusb0.dll"

The rest of the installation continues successfully, and when connecting the device to the computer, the device is recognised under "NI-VISA USB Devices" in Device Manager.

Once I start the software, however, the device reverts to "Unknown device" in Device Manager, when I know it should appear as "LibUSB Win32 Devices - USBStyx".

Running the software with the device connected results in:

  • Locating Binary
  • Reading Binary File
  • USB Connection Established
  • No Firmware Found... Downloading
  • Download Failed... Reset the Hardware
A dialogue box appears saying "The firmware load has failed due to a timeout condition. Please reset the hardware to continue loading the firmware".
At which point I reset the device, click 'retry' and it goes through the same routine, getting stuck at "DSP not ready... Retrying".
Is the 64-bit version of Win7 the problem here? I don't have access to a WinXP machine, and I'm not sure if I should just try and install the LibUSB drivers from elsewhere.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
Ric
