Testing beamformer IC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM96570

Hai,

How can I test beamformer IC (LM96570) in a TX-SDK-V2 board alone? What if I connect 3.3 V and 1.8 V only to EVM for testing?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Fathima

  • Hi Fathima,

Testing is very easy. Just generate a FIRE signal (TX_EN). For medical ultrasound applications the pulse repetition frequency should be calculated as follows: PRF=V/(2*S)

V=1560m/s (mean acoustic wave velocity in the human body)

    S - penetration depth (practically 2-24cm)

For beamformer testing purposes you can use just only 2 voltages 1.8V and 3.3V.

    Good luck,

    Mariusz

  • Thank you for your reply.

Can you please provide me the .ucf file for tx-board3001.bit file corresponds to xem3001 Opel Kelly module?

  • Hello Mariusz,

I have a TX-SDK-V2 board and I have reasons to believe the LM96550 is damaged. To ensure the other ICs are working, I would like to perform tests on the TR switch and Beamformer IC.

Could you please help me through that? Please recommend on the steps to be followed for that; including the required power supplies and their power-on sequence.

    Appreciate your support.

    Regards,
    Vidya
