Hi,
Is there some way of utilizing an AFE4400 on a breadboard for easy prototyping of my pulse oximeter? A QFN packaging can't really be used for rapid prototyping.
Thanks.

Hello,
That is why you have the Evaluation Module: http://www.ti.com/tool/afe4400spo2evm

Mohammad,
Unfortunately the AFE4400 does not come in another package. However, there are a lot of places where you can purchase QFN breakout boards and get started quickly. I have listed a few sites that I found.

You can also use our Evaluation Module to help get you started.

Hi Amy,
Thank you! Those breakout boards look like the best option.
Regarding the Evaluation Module, is that only for demonstration of the AFE4400's capabilities? Is it possible to configure the AFE4400 on the Eval board and push the configuration onto a AFE4400 chip on my own board?
Thanks.
That is our most useful demonstration of the AFE4400 capabilities. We did develop an optical heart rate monitor reference design with BLE conectivity that also showcases our device capabilites. You can read more about it at the link below.

You can configure the AFE4400 on our EVM GUI and use the same register settings on your breadboard. You cannot directly port the software source code though. We do however offer customers our source code as a way to get them started with development.
The firmware code for AFE4400SPO2EVM is attached below.
Hi Amy,
Could you also provide the source code for the AFE4490SPO2EVM? I think I will be going with the 4490 and development board.
EDIT: The AFE44XX come in QFN packaging, so no leads. This means that breakout board soldering might not work either.
Thanks.
Mohammad,
We only provide our source code when the business case warrants it. Can you provide us a business case?
I'm actually a graduate student using the AFE4490 for a project, so it's not exactly a business case. Having the source code would be a good reference. Thanks.
